Armenian citizen Manvel Saribekian, who died in the hands of
Azerbaijan, was tortured and underwent inhumane treatment, an official
from the Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office told Interfax on Friday.
“A postmortem examination of Saribekian’s body confirmed torture and
inhumane treatment. The body was partially decomposed, which proved
inappropriate storing conditions,” he said.
Armenian Prosecutor General Agvan Ovsepian ordered the opening of a
murder investigation.
The body of the 20-year-old was returned to Armenia from Azerbaijan
on Thursday.
