Freedom House Names Armenia And NKR Partially Free; Azerbaijan Given

FREEDOM HOUSE NAMES ARMENIA AND NKR PARTIALLY FREE; AZERBAIJAN GIVEN NOT FREE STATUS

Freedom House released the findings (political rights and civil
liberties scores) for Freedom in the World 2010. Freedom House annual
report lists Armenia and NKR among partially free states; Azerbaijan
was given Not Free status. Georgia and Turkey were named partially
free, however, Turkey received a downward trend arrow due to the
Constitutional Court’s decision to ban the pro-Kurdish Democratic
Society Party.

17 countries, including Belarus, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan as well as
China, Cuba, South Korea, Burma, Sudan, Syria, Somali were announced
Not Free and given negative assessment.
