Shavarsh Kocharyan: Peoples, not natinas have the righ to self-determination

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev declared at a joint press
conference with his Serbian counterpart that `Armenians of Nagorno
Karabakh have no right to self determination.’ Commenting on the
statement, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said:
`Azerbaijan’s President should have known that peoples, not nations
have the right to self-determination. Otherwise, according to the
thesis inherited together with the presidential chair, which says that
Turks and Azerbaijanis are one nation, Azerbaijan could not have the
right to independence.’
