FISHING BAN IN SEVAN IS AN "INCOMPLETE STEP": SARUKHANYAN

Chairman of Union of Fish-Breeders of Armenia, Arkady Gevorgyan,
thinks that the government’s decision to impose a ban on fishing in
Lake Sevan for three years’ period was an "incomplete step."
"Together with the ban on fishing the reproduction of the fish should
be promoted and large numbers of baby fish should be poured into the
lake," Gevorgyan said at a press conference today.
At the same time Gevorgyan said he was suspicious of control over
the fishing ban.
"Illegal fishing should be strongly controlled. If that step is taken
in reality, I will welcome it," he said.
