ARMENIAN NOMINAL MEDIAN WAGES IN 2009 DECEMBER RISE BY 9.5% TO $347

YEREVAN, February 3, /ARKA/. Armenian nominal median wages in 2009
December rose by 9.5% from a year before to 131,850 Drams or $347,
~@237 or 10,398 rubles. According to the provisional figures of the
Armenian National Statistical Service, the median wage in 2009 December
grew by 27.5% from the preceding month, when it was 103,403 Drams.

The highest median wage in 2009 December was in the southern province
of Syunik- 111,559 Drams and the lowest in Vayots Dzor-76,321 Drams.

The median nominal wage in Yerevan was 115,073 Drams.

By sectors the financial sector boasted the highest median salary
of 268,928 Drams, followed by mining sector-181,170 Drams,
production and distribution of power, gas and water-140,771
Drams, construction-130,887 Drams, real property-126,301 Drams and
transport-125,899 Drams. The lowest paid jobs were in fishing-56,556
Drams, health-66,375 Drams and communal services 69,317 Drams. ($1 –
