THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF THE "BOOK OF LAMENTATIONS"

The masterpiece by Grigor Narekatsi entitled "Book of Lamentations"
was first published in 1673 in the French city of Marseille with the
title "Book of Prayer: Book of Lamentations or Narek".
"Narek" was published in Ashkharabar (Modern Armenian) starting in
the early 20th century and Misak Gochunyan was the first to publish
it partially in 1902 and later as a separate book.
In 1827 Grigor Narekatsi’s songs were published for the first time
in Venice.
