On September 8 President of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik
Abrahamyan received Head of the Armenia office of the World Bank (WB)
Mr. Aristomene Varoudakis.
Greeting the guest the President of the National Assembly highly
assessed the cooperation of the Armenian authorities with the WB and
expressed readiness of the National Assembly to promote it. In that
context he highlighted the implementation of control functions set
out by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia to the parliament,
in particular, in respect of using the financial-credit means allocated
to Armenia in the best way possible.
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the world
financial-economic crisis and its influence on Armenia’s
economy. During the talk they also touched upon the perspectives of
possible cooperation in the sphere of the development of specialized
and technical capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of
Armenia by the assistance of the World Bank.
Vice President of the National Assembly Mrs Arevik Petrosyan also
attended the meeting.
