ArmInfo. ‘Upon the results of our meeting with Turkey’s Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Davos, we instructed our foreign ministers to
keep on negotiating’, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said at the
meeting with representatives of the Armenian community of Switzerland,
the presidential press service told ArmInfo today.

‘Establishment of normal and civilized relations between the two
neighbouring countries without any preconditions proceeds from our
interests’, S. Sargsyan said. He emphasized that establishment of
relations with Turkey does not mean pass the sponge over the Armenian
Genocide and the national interests of Armenia. ‘We always used
to say and I shall repeat once more – we advocate establishment of
diplomatic relations with Turkey without any conditions, unblocking
of the borders, creation of an intergovernmental commission, as well
as further discussion of any issues available between the two states
and peoples’, the Armenian president said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
