ICRC DELEGATION IN ARMENIA HAS VISITED AZERBAIJANI SERVICEMAN FOUR TIMES SINCE HIS CAPTURE

ArmInfo. In accordance with its mandate based on the Geneva Conventions
of 1949, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation
in Armenia has visited Mr. Gasanov Rafiq, an Azerbaijani serviceman
detained by the Armenian authorities, four times since his capture,
reports the press service of ICRC.

Mr. Gasanov re-established contact with his family and exchanged Red
Cross Messages through the ICRC.

Similarly, ICRC delegates four times visited Mr Simonyan Paruyr,
detainedin Azerbaijan, in order to monitor his treatment and conditions
of detention.

The family of Mr Simonyan re-established contact with him through
Red Cross Messages. Mr. Simonyan sent verbal greetings through the
ICRC to his family in Armenia.

Information on conditions of detention and treatment of detainees is
shared confidentially with the detaining authorities only.
