ArmInfo. Barack Obama’s election to the post of US president causes
expectation of sharp changing of the foreign policy of the USA. In
this context the presidential election may be watched as a crucial
point, – an independent American political expert Richard Kirakosyan
told ArmInfo correspondent.
He also added these election as none for many years have prepared
the period of new opportunities and challenges for the president
of the USA, as the new president is getting bad heritage from the
administration of Bush: big deficit, financial crisis, unsettled
problems of Iraq and Afghanistan. It is obvious that the new president
will be forced to correct the course so that to compensate for damage
to the strength and authority of the USA, he said.
He also said that these changes will also touch the South Caucasus. The
USA has to take into account the tendency of the growing role of
Russia in the region, Kirakosyan said.
