REPRESENTATIVES OF ICRC FAILED TO GAIN ACCESS TO ARMENIA’S CITIZENS DETAINED IN NAKHIJEVAN DIRECTION

YEREVAN, 22.05.08. DE FACTO. The representatives of the International
Committee of the Red Cross have not gained access to the RA four
citizens detained in Nakhijevan direction of the front line.
According to the information received from the ICRC Yerevan delegation,
the Committee got the information from the families of Armenia’s four
citizens detained in Nakhijevan.
"Receiving the information, in line with the usual practice, the
ICRC made an attempt to gain access to the above-mentioned persons to
estimate the custody’s conditions, as well as to ensure the possibility
of exchanging family news with their relatives.
Unfortunately, the representatives of the ICRC have not obtained
admittance to visit the persons in Azerbaijan. However, the attempts
to organize the visits are still being made", the members of the ICRC
Yerevan delegation said, ArmInfo reports.
