`EVERYONE MINDS HIS OWN BUSINESS.’

Presidential candidate Serzh Sarkissian visited
Shirak Marz on February 15. During the meeting with
Landzik voters the candidate said his `programme is
hard-nosed.’ The Prime Minister pledged allegiance.
`I pledge to fulfill my promises as an official has no
right to repudiate them. I assure you that people will
live twice better by 2013,’ he said.
`The country has a great potential. If we employ at
least part of it, we shall have crowning
achievements,’ Sarkissian said in Azatani Village.
`Òhe authorities used to say they couldn’t tackle this
or that problem, it was beyond their competence. I
pledge to solve all problems regardless of their
complication,’ the candidate said.
Occasionally, authorities neglected the problems of
Gyumri, thus inflicting great losses on the city. I
assure you that I shall restore Gyumri’s pride and
reputation. People will soon seek shelters in Gyumri.’
Serzh Sarkissian finished his speech with an appeal,
`Onward to prosperous Armenia we crave for.’
Today’s meeting was strangely silent. People were
neither curious nor boisterous. `Everybody minds his
own business,’ an elderly man said.
