The Asian Development Bank allotted a USD 30.6 million loan to expand
Armenia’s road network in rural areas, according to the news agency
Regnum.
In 2004, the Armenian government began a program to connect rural roads
to major transport routes to improve accessibility for mountainous
regions-which can become virtually isolated in winter months. Some
784 roads have been designated for this.
