Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the Mining Armenia Forum 2026 in Tsaghkadzor.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the annual event, stressing the significant role of mining in Armenia’s economy.

“From the very first day, representatives of the Government and other state bodies have participated in this forum in various formats. It is a good platform for dialogue. Essentially, this is a transparent dialogue, with open discussion of problems and possible solutions, which is very important. We can clearly state that the sector offers major opportunities but also faces challenges.

“It is very important that this year’s forum is taking place alongside COP17. This is another good opportunity to draw our attention to an important issue: bringing Armenia’s mining industry into line with the highest possible standards. Clearly, environmental standards are becoming an increasingly pressing issue in Armenia and everywhere else. The world is confronting the reality that our planet faces very complex environmental challenges. I cannot say that we have taken no steps in this direction, but neither can we speak of considering this problem resolved in the foreseeable future.

“The mining sector has a significant impact on Armenia’s GDP and export volumes,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
