On July 17, Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine celebrated the Miner and Metallurgist’s professional day, the metallurgist’s day in the Kajaran community gathered the industry’s employees under one roof, and with the efforts of the company’s management, the day turned into a real celebration.
The day was once again an opportunity to remember, honor and reward those people whose tireless work keeps the mining sector running and achieving great achievements.
The day is also important in the sense that the field summarizes the semester and highlights the achievements, pays attention to the gaps and works to turn the gaps into achievements in the next semester.
Roman Khudolin, General Director of “ZPMK” CJSC at the start of the event, he happily noted that the Day of the Miner and Metallurgist is a traditional holiday, during which the results are summarized, adding that this year’s semester is one of the best in the history of the combine.
“I can record that, as of now, the summarized half-year of the combine is one of the best in the history of the company. I am sure that with this collective it is possible to make even the most ambitious plans come true,” said Roman Khudolin.

“This project is unprecedented in terms of its scope and significance, and it will take several years to complete. After the completion of the project, we will have a fully digitized, automated production chain, which will make our work more efficient, visible and manageable from the point of view of general management.
The second important achievement is the rearmament, this year we continue our rearmament. We have bought machines to work in the mine, re-equipment is also being done in the factory, enrichment. In other words, this is daily and large-scale work,” added Vardan Jhanyan.
As for steps to reduce possible environmental damage, The first deputy director general of ZPMK said that at this moment they have started an important process: they are bringing international standards of sustainable development to Armenia, which includes standards and they refer to the impact of the environment. There are two options, one of them should be chosen and applied in Armenia, after which the metal mines should work according to these standards.
Adhering to the advice of the day, the general director of ZPMK awarded and gave certificates of appreciation to the best employees of the company this semester, appreciating their work.
Every employee of the company depends on the result provided by ZPMK every day, they perform their duties with responsibility every day, realizing the importance of their work in the development of the state and economy.
One of the awarded employees: Gayane Ivanyan, sampler of the production control department of ZPMC has been working at the combine for almost 3 decades, his reward was unexpected for him, that’s why the feelings were special.
“I did not expect to receive such an honor, it was a different feeling that I did not fail in my work, my work was appreciated by our management, I am satisfied and grateful.”
People get metal from stone, it is interesting and at the same time difficult work, but we do it and do not fail in our work. There is no difference, whether the man does the work or the woman, we do the important thing with love,” Gayane Ivanyan said.
Vahagn Nersisyan, head of the economic department of tailings economy of ZPMC after the award, he mentioned that the fact that he presented himself as the best employee is binding, and he should continue to work with greater responsibility from now on. He promises to continue working with such methods to make the working environment even better.
“The prospects of the combine are very big. Our grandfathers and fathers worked here. I want the young people to do their work with greater love and responsibility, because it is this work that ensures the prosperous life of our families,” emphasized the young employee of the combine.
During the festive event, the attendees had the opportunity to enjoy Photographer Nver Zelyai of the media and public relations department of the Moscow State University the exhibition of photographs by Syunik, dedicated entirely to Syunik, the nature and monuments of Syunik.
The long-time photographer also highlighted the importance of the mining sector in the development of Armenia’s economy, stressing that there is nothing without mining.
“Syunik is unique, every stone of Syunik has its own unique place, position. Each of my pictures has its own story, there are pictures where I have depicted people, they are more expensive because those people are no longer there.
I received the offer to show the pictures from Arayik Margaryan, I gladly agreed, because my pictures are being shown for the first time,” said the photographer.
It should also be noted that the Miner’s and Metallurgist’s Professional Day has been celebrated in Armenia since 2008. This year, the festive event was concluded with a big concert program.
