During this year, 1775 families have already benefited from the state assistance program for providing housing for families with children, to whom support of 1.5 billion drams has been provided. In the coming days, another 300-400 families will receive payments. Since the start of the program, around 17 thousand families have become beneficiaries of the program, and 12.6 billion drams have been allocated from the state budget.
Gayane Gharagyozyan, the adviser coordinating individual functions of the structural divisions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, informed about this at the session of the public council attached to the RA Minister of ASD. He emphasized that 2.4 billion drams were planned for financing the project in the 2026 state budget.
Gharagyozyan reminded that the program was launched in 2020 with the aim of improving the housing conditions of families with children, especially in regional settlements, where the mortgage market was more passive due to the difficulties of securing an advance payment.
Referring to the components of the program, he mentioned that the first component of the program is intended for families with at least two minor children who want to buy an apartment or build an individual residential house with a mortgage loan in any regional settlement of Armenia. State support is directed either to the financing of the advance payment, or, if there is no need for it, to the repayment of the principal amount of the mortgage loan.
“The amount of support is up to 1 million drams for families with two children, up to 1.5 million drams for three children, and up to 2 million drams for four or more children. If real estate is purchased in a border settlement or in a settlement where schools and kindergartens are being built, the amount of support increases by another 50 percent,” he said.
