“Certain economic and commercial disagreements have emerged between the parties regarding the project that they initiated with united efforts. This sector has always benefited from the support of both the Iranian government and the Iranian Embassy in Armenia,” Khalil Shirgholami, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, said at a press conference today, talking about the arrest of the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, Gagik Tsarukyan, the reason for which, according to the Central Committee, is also the report submitted by an Iranian citizen.

According to the ambassador, that project did not succeed on both sides and failed.

“As we know, the root cause of this disagreement is the economic and commercial business sphere and other cooperations, in which the parties could not achieve results and have disagreements.

I think that as a result of some mediation, we can finally reach an agreement between the parties and the elimination of similar problems. It is not desirable for discussions to take place within the framework of public opinion in the context that RA and IRI citizens have similar differences and such a dispute arises between them. In any case, we must take into account that both parties had complaints against each other and reached the court stage. I myself have tried to be in contact with both sides, at the moment we have the fact that the process has entered the judicial and legal stage,” emphasized Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami.

The ambassador also emphasized that he does not want to touch on individual details, because they have their own characteristics.
