Today, during the press conference called by Khalil Shirgolami, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia 168.am-the The ambassador inquired what information is known about the criminal case initiated against the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” party Gagik Tsarukyan, where, according to the report of the Central Committee, citizens of Iran are also victims.

“This is one of our regrets, it is very painful and regrettable for us that the project of the Armenian-Iranian trade center was not crowned with any success.

This idea and this project was about good will, a very interesting and positive idea. We wanted to establish a joint Armenian-Iranian trade center in which Iranian citizens and Mr. Gagik Tsarukyan would be involved.

Even the event of the opening of this center took place and the Iranian Embassy in RA was pursuing the issues within the framework of this project in a unique way. Before my appointment as ambassador, the previous ambassador was also actively involved in the issues related to this center. The goal was to give a new momentum to the trade between the two countries. In addition, this was a very good opportunity to present Iranian products on the Armenian market,” the ambassador noted.

According to him, the parties had certain economic disagreements within the framework of this business project, as it was fraught with certain future risks and problems, they tried to do everything on their part.

“I personally had many discussions with both sides, wanting to act as a mediator to try to reach some goals as a result of consensus and certain concessions,” added the ambassador.
