The General Prosecutor’s Office of RA has initiated the process of canceling the lease contract for a large plot of land on the shore of Lake Sevan, which was owned by a private person for nearly two decades.
The relevant petition has already been sent to the Sevan National Park Directorate and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment.
The studies of the Department of State Interests Protection of the Prosecutor’s Office showed that back in 2004, a lease agreement was signed between the national park and citizen Arayik Hayrapetyan for an area of 3100 square meters. The document expired in April 2011, but has since continued to operate indefinitely.
Within the framework of the powers of protection of state interests, the prosecutor’s office instructed to take steps to stop the transaction. According to the Civil Code of the RA, each of the parties has the right to withdraw from the real estate lease agreement for an indefinite period at any time, by notifying the other party three months in advance.
