Azerbaijan transferred the bodies of more than 2,000 servicemen to Armenia. Elnur Mam

Azerbaijan has always been guided by the principles of humanism and declared that the settlement of the problem of missing persons is an important part of the process of strengthening peace and trust in the South Caucasus. According to “Report”, this was announced by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, member of the State Commission on Captives, Hostages and Missing Citizens Elnur Mammadov during the international conference dedicated to the issues of missing persons in Baku.


“Solving the problem of missing persons requires the joint efforts and transparent cooperation of all parties. The family of each missing person experiences their own tragedy. The issue of missing persons is one of the priority topics of the global humanitarian agenda,” Mammadov noted.


He also added that since November 2020, Azerbaijan has handed over the bodies of more than 2,000 Armenian servicemen found on the battlefield.
