The election day is accompanied by massive obstruction of citizens’ electoral rights and flagrant violations of legislation. Such a statement was made by the representatives of the opposition “Armenia” opposition bloc during the press conference on June 7, describing the actions of the current authorities as “informational terror” and blatant misuse of administrative resources.
According to the representative of the alliance, law enforcement officers detain citizens without justification and clear accusations. The Debetavan community was mentioned as an outstanding example of illegality, where, according to the opposition, the operative groups of the National Security Service and the Anti-Corruption Committee are concentrated.
According to the statement, the security forces are targeting and detaining the supporters and propagandists of the “Armenia” alliance, establishing control even over the people going to vote. two people have already been detained. In addition, many cases of open and directed voting were raised, as well as artificial bureaucratic barriers created by passport departments and courts, which deprive unregistered persons (including Artsakh residents) of the right to vote.
The alliance has already applied to the prosecutor’s office and the Central Election Commission regarding the recorded violations.
