The ongoing parliamentary elections in Armenia are notable for the high level of citizen activity. A few hours before the end of the voting, the participation rate has already approached half of those who have the right to vote, significantly exceeding the results of the previous election campaign.
According to the official data published by the Central Electoral Commission, as of 17:00, 1 million 224 thousand 957 voters have fulfilled their civil duty.
This is 48.92 percent of the more than 2.5 million registered voters in the country. This voting dynamics indicates a serious public mobilization, which becomes more evident in comparison with the extraordinary parliamentary elections of 2021.
Let’s remind that during the previous elections, 989,972 people visited polling stations in the same period, which was only 38.17 percent of those who had the right to vote.
