Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov sent Easter greetings to Bulgaria’s Catholic and Armenian communities and wished Orthodox Christians a happy Palm Sunday in a Facebook post on Sunday.
“As the bells of the Catholic Church and the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Bulgaria announce the Resurrection of Christ, I extend heartfelt greetings to all Christians of the two faiths traditionally present in our country. Easter is a celebration of life triumphing over death and of hope overcoming suffering. Its enduring message to every person is that light is stronger than darkness and that something eternal survives all hardship,” Gurov wrote.
He also highlighted that the Catholic community has carried a tradition shaping the spiritual and cultural identity of Western civilization for two millennia, while the Armenian people were among the first in the world to embrace the Christian faith, a tradition measured not in decades, but in millennia. “Despite their different histories and destinies, both communities today face the same mystery of the Resurrection and find a shared language in it,” Gurov added.
