34,576 displaced persons from Karabakh granted Armenian citizenship, minister

Armenia has granted citizenship to 34,576 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a conference on addressing the needs of those displaced, Sargsyan said around 1,000 applications were still being processed.

She added that no citizenship applications had been rejected so far.The minister said that more than 5,000 applications submitted in the first two and a half months of this year, compared with about 4,000 in the first half of last year.
