Pressure is growing on President Joe Biden to officially recognize the 1915 mass killings of some 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire as a genocide, a promise he made as a presidential candidate but one which Turkey says will harm ties to the U.S. Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, marked annually by the large Los Angeles-area Armenian community, is April 24.
