Istanbul police discover coins from Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia

Police in Istanbul, Turkey, have discovered coins from the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia.

During a special operation, law enforcement agency exposed a ring that is engaged in illegal sale of old coins, Habertürk reported.

A total of 912 such coins were found in the possession of this ring, and they include coins from the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia and the Byzantine period.

Police also found patterns for counterfeiting old coins.

It turned out that the coins made in this way were sold to tourists as original coins.
