YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received Head of International Monetary Fund Armenia Mission Hossein Samiei on February 26.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the PM highlighted the effective cooperation with the IMF and the continuous assistance of the IMF to economic reforms. Nikol Pashinyan underscored that the Government's priorities include reforms in various areas, including fight against corruption, taxation, justice and public administration. The head of the government underlined that the reforms are aimed at simplifying the tax policy, improving the business environment, boosting investments, and increasing the independence of the judiciary. According to the Head of the Government, the government's goal is to make structural changes in the economy.

The head of the IMF mission in Armenia expressed confidence that the joint work will contribute to reforms in Armenia's economy. Positively evaluating the steps undertaken by the Government, Hossein Samiey added that the IMF is ready to continue to assist the Government of Armenia in promoting reforms and is interested in implementing effective programs.

The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of other issues on the bilateral agenda.
