A1+: Armenian GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan starts Iran’s tournament with victory

The 27th Fajr Chess Cup with 126 chess players from 13 countries kicks off in Iran. 10 delegates from Armenia are among the participants.

Grandmaster Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and young chess player Areg Shmavonyan were had victories in the first round. Grandmasters Karen Grigoryan, Arman Mikayelyan and Gevorg Harutyunyan drew levels with their components.

Today, the games of the second and third rounds will take place.
