9-year old Misha (Michael Grigoryan) representing Armenia at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is dreaming of peace in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), he told a news conference on Wednesday.

Misha will perform alone on stage, with his song’s message “peace to my country” raising hopes he might be the first participant to win the contest for Armenia.

In the singer’s words, the title of his Eurovision entry, “Boomerang”, is not accidental, since he intends to send peace to the audience through it. Misha considers contestants of Belarus, Poland and Russia as his competitors.

The music of “Boomerang” was composed by Vahram Petrosyan, with the lyrics written by Avet Barseghyan, David Tserunyan and Arthur Aghekyan.

The 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest held under the slogan of “Shine Bright” this year will take place in the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi, Georgia on 26 November, at 16:00 CET.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
