Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan to meet in coming weeks

The Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are expected to meet early in December, Spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov said after the Party’s sitting Wednesday.

“The Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are set to meet. The meeting will probably take place in the coming weeks,” he said, adding that additional information about the date and venue of the meeting would be provided later.

US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick said earlier the Presidents would meet by the end of the year.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
