To celebrate the Centenary of Gallipoli battle on April 24 instead of
March 18 is a very big mistake, the Bilkent University professor and
Doctor Esra Chukhudar stated today.
According to the Turkish professor, Ankara is making strategic
mistakes, the Turkish news agency Arca reports. “The Turkish side has
brought the Karabakh question into the reconciliation process with
Armenia, which made the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations
five times harder,” Esra Chukhudar said.
Referring to the events dedicated to the Centennial of Gallipoli
battle, the Turkish professor said: “I’ve got an impression that some
tragedy contest is going on, which exacerbates the existing tension
with Armenia. Turkey could not confront the historical tragedy, but I
hope that we will start doing that, we’ll have to. Turkey must go
through this.”
