ARMENIA’S JEWELRY OUTPUT BUILT UP 9.9% TO AMD 1 917.7 MILLION IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenia produced jewelry worth AMD 1
917.7 million in January and February 2015, accounting for a 9.9%
year-on-year growth, the National Statistical Service reports.

According to the statistical report, 81.6 kilograms of jewelry were
produced over the first two months of 2015 against 91.5 kilograms at
the same period a year before.

Armenia’s diamond output totaled 8 664 carats against 9 551 carats
respectively.

Precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals and jewelry made
of them worth about $22.4 million were exported from the country in
January and February 2015 (31.7% decline), and their imports totaled
$10.6 million showing a 80.7% year-on-year decline. —0—-
