Midfielder of the Armenian national team Henrikh Mkhitaryan has
expressed gratitude to Bernard Challandes for his contribution to
the Armenian football.

The message posted on Mkhitaryan’s Facebook page reads: “I would
like to express my deep gratitude to our coach Bernard Challandes
for his contribution to the Armenian football, for his devotion
and professionalism. It has been a real pleasure for me personally
to work with such a trainer and I appreciated very much the advice
he had given to me. It has been certainly a short experience, but I
would like to sincerely thank him for his great support and wish him
the best of luck in his future projects.”

Challandes quit as Armenia head coach on March 30 after 2:1 defeat
to Albania in a Euro-2016 qualifier.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
