FILM ‘A CENTURY-LONG GENOCIDE. BLACK JANUARY OF BAKU’ SCREENED IN WASHINGTON

On March 24, the Permanent Representation of the Nagorno Karabakh
Republic to the USA organized the screening of the documentary “A
Century-long Genocide. Black January of Baku” in the St. Mary Church
in Washington. A reception took place before the film screening,
the press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Foreign Ministry reports.

In his opening speech, NKR Permanent Representative to the USA Robert
Avetisyan presented briefly the goal of the film, the history of the
Armenian community of Baku, and stressed the importance of perpetuating
the memory of the victims.

After the film screening, representative of Artsakh and member of the
creative team of the film, journalist Haykaram Nahapetyan, who was
present at the event, answered the participants’ questions. Priest
of the St. Mary Church Father Hovsep Karapetian also addressed the
participants of the event.

Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Tigran Sargsyan, the staff
of the Embassy, representatives of the Armenian organizations and
members of the Armenian community were present at the event.
