The Yerevan concert of singer Irina Alegrova has been against
rescheduled, representatives of the Forpostart Company said on
March 16.

The decision was taken considering the events slated for the 100th
anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

The concert slated for April 6 will be held on May 23.

The organizers say the tickets can be returned by e-mail writing at
[email protected] and mentioning the number of seats. The
organizers say many people who received invitations are trying to
seize the opportunity and sell tickets; therefore ticket offices do
not take back the tickets.

The pop singer has made a video address to the Armenian audience
explaining the reasons for the concert postponement.

The concert was to be held on March 6 at Karen Demirtchyan Sports
and Concert Complex in Yerevan. However, it did not take place as
the singer was hospitalized on the same day. Later in the day, she
apologized [in a letter] to the Armenian audience for the discomfort
and said the concert would be held on April 6.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
