New Situation Has Occurred

NEW SITUATION HAS OCCURRED

Armenia which is usually rotating round the Russian politics is
trying to develop a new foreign policy, developing relations with
the Euro-Atlantic community, which is related to new objectives of
national security.

A new geopolitical situation has occurred in the Black Sea-Caucasian
region and the Near East when Russia is after expansion, preventing
neighbors from conducting an independent foreign policy.

Armenia underwent Russia’s strong pressure and blackmail and was forced
to give up on integration with the European Union, at the same time,
not being interested that Armenia will become a full-fledged partner
in the alliance formed in Eurasia.

Armenia has appeared in international isolation, and bad consequences
in economy and security. At the same time, thanks to patriotism in
the armed forces, Armenia is conducting an independent and meaningful
policy towards development of cooperation with NATO over peacekeeping,
army building, defense preparedness, training programs and acquisition
of arms.

Besides developing relations with the alliance active relations develop
with NATO member states. Russia is jealous but does not come up with
constructive initiatives and merely provokes tension in the South
Caucasus when it is all about the right to free, sovereign choice of
Armenia on making foreign political decisions.

The more significant and successful part of the Armenian public,
primarily the young generation, innumerable NGOs have practically
revised the priorities of the foreign policy of Armenia and are
supporting the initiatives and policy of the military command.

At the same time, Russia relies on strong groups in Armenia which
are related to Russian business and Gazprom’s sponsorship, as well
as Russian specialized organizations, controlling a greater part of
the mass media.

However, the military-political bloc created by Russia will soon
collapse due to economic and geopolitical reasons, which will be
crucial for the formation of the new Eurasian geopolitics.

There was an important moment in foreign policy. The new situation is
that the United States, the United Kingdom and NATO are not trying
to activate the foreign policy of the countries of Eastern Europe,
as was in the past two decades.

Now the international situation is more than tense, and the West
would not wish to give Moscow a reason to provoke new conflicts,
making use of initiatives of the countries of Eastern Europe. Now
even the smallest tension may cause a serious conflict.

Washington and London are planning to maintain the legitimacy of
actions against Russia and to cause its economy, as well as statehood
to collapse. Apparently, the countries of Eastern Europe are useless
and inefficient participants and they still have to remain in the
role of observer.

It first of all concerns Ukraine which is called to be the key lever
and factor of Russia’s collapse. Georgia has no place in this skirmish,
Moldova cannot participate, while Armenia, being such a committed
partner of Russia’s, should play a significant role, sequentially
integrating with NATO and the organizations of the Western community,
thereby demonstrating that Armenia has become a more pro-active
participant of the Western strategy in the region.

It should be noted that prior to the scandalous event of September 3
Armenia occupied a primary role among NATO partners, which was then
an intrigue in the policy of Eastern Europe. It obviously has not
been forgotten in NATO, and there is no doubt that Armenia continues
its movement towards the Alliance.

Russia does not intend to follow this situation quietly, which will
also influence the situation in the region. For Russia, the loss of
Armenia will mean loss of its positions in the South Caucasus but also
collapse of its vulnerable defense structure, which is achieved in
the southern direction by way of ignoring the interests of Armenia,
its “partner”.

There will be a response, and the response will be rather tough. This
is one of the reasons why the West does not want to irritate Russia
due to Armenia and the states of Eastern Europe. The Americans and
the British are trying to instill in all the countries of Eastern
Europe that there is no need to infuriate Russia, and their problems
will be resolved without the participation of those states.

The problems of the region will be resolved by way of avoiding
conflicts, though the huge conflict has been created, and there is no
doubt that this conflict will affect the global politics and economy.

This tactics of the West is explained by several reasons: security
factors, legal circumstances, internal and external policy, primarily
in the United States, as well as the stances of Germany and other
European states.

The United States and the United Kingdom, the leaders in curbing
Russian expansion, are trying to avoid escalation of relations within
the Western community. To what extent can this policy be viewed as
a new policy? The forthcoming developments will show.

PAP Plans Response To RPA: Tsarukyan To Deliver "Program" Speech

PAP PLANS RESPONSE TO RPA: TSARUKYAN TO DELIVER “PROGRAM” SPEECH

NEWS | 13.02.15 | 10:53

Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan will deliver a
“program” speech at the Political Council’s meeting scheduled for
Friday noon, according to media reports.

“Tsarukyan will answer all the questions raised by [President] Serzh
Sargsyan and will provide full answers to all the questions that are
of concern to the society,” Zham.am said.

During the late Thursday meeting of the Council of the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), President Sargsyan lashed out
at Tsarukyan, describing his political activities as “evil” for
the country. Stressing the “ignorance and illiteracy” of Tsarukyan,
Sargsyan effectively urged the RPA to work towards ousting Tsarukyan
from the political arena.

The PAP did not react to the strong criticism of its leader
immediately. Expressing his “personal view” in an interview with
RFE/RL’s Armenian Service, the party spokesman, Tigran Urikhanyan,
only again criticized Sargsyan and his administration for the economic
and social problems existing in the country.

The Eclipse: New Short Film On Armenian Genocide Presented

THE ECLIPSE: NEW SHORT FILM ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE PRESENTED

GENOCIDE | 13.02.15 | 10:38

By GAYANE MKRTCHYAN
ArmeniaNow reporter

Conductor Ara Yernjakyan, the artistic director of the Yerevan Chamber
Theatre, has presented a new short feature film about orphans who
survived in the 1915 Armenian Genocide and took refuge in one of
American camps.

The plot of the 15-minute film called “The Eclipse” is not based
on a true story. There are no murder scenes, no blood, no pregnant
women and Turks slaughtering them in the film, instead there are
children’s eyes full of deep grief, tears, loss, that are telling
about despicable crime.

The director relates the success of the film to the children who
are not professional actors, but were able to fulfill their mission
professionally.

“The children were selected among schoolchildren of two Ashtarak
schools. I do not know, you can rarely find actors of such quality,
both that moving story, and that brilliant acting,” Yernjakyan said.

He said that there is an accepted opinion that in a film about the
Genocide there must be red-capped Turkish soldiers who are shedding
blood and spreading violence.

“There is not a single drop of blood, there were moving children’s eyes
and one story, one small novel, which, I think, is more understandable
and exciting than a pack of Turkish soldiers with daggers,” he
said. “During any tragedy children are the first to suffer, grown-ups
somehow manage to overcome the tragedy, but children are innocent,
they do not understand why it happened so that yesterday they had
parents and today they don’t.”

Before working on “The Eclipse”, Yernjakyan was trying to find
financial means for shooting a full-length film to be called ‘The
Flood’, which would also be based on the Genocide subject, however he
was not able to get the necessary means, and instead decided to shoot
“The Eclipse”.

“For The Eclipse the Golden Apricot [international film festival]
provided $10,000, the Ministry of the Diaspora – 1 million AMD,
the Ministry of Culture – 3-4 million AMD,” he said. (According to
today’s exchange rate, one dollar is about 475 drams).

The film had a success in the Italian city of Ravenna. It has been
submitted for a presidential award. This year within the framework
of the Golden Apricot festival the film will be shown in a number of
theatres of the world, including in Paris. Yernjakyan said that the
film’s “biography” is only beginning.

The Eclipse will be on TV in Armenia in April, when the 100th
anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be marked.

Sargsyan lashes out at Tsarukyan, defends constitutional reform

The sensational speech delivered by President Serzh Sargsyan late on
February 12 has signaled the start of a new stage of a tough internal
political race in Armenia.

Addressing top representatives of Armenia’s ruling Republican Party
(RPA), Sargsyan, who is the leader of the RPA, called for clearing up
the political field from “illiterate and non-political elements.” In
doing so he leveled unusually strong criticism and mocked at the leader
of the second largest parliamentary party, Prosperous Armenia (PAP),
Gagik Tsarukyan. Moreover, the main target of Sargsyan’s criticism
was the “illiteracy” of Tsarukyan, who recently issued an ultimatum
to the government.

This ultimatum is connected with planned constitutional reforms that
the Sargsyan administration intends to carry out in the near future.

In particular, under the proposed draft the current presidential
form of government is to be replaced with a parliamentary one. Most
opposition groups in Armenia believe this way the RPA seeks to ensure
its continued grip on power even after the end of President Sargsyan’s
second and last term in office in 2018.

Last week, Tsarukyan convened a conference during which he said that in
conditions of the actually ongoing war at the borders with Azerbaijan,
the difficult economic and political situation in the country a change
in the model of public administration is impractical and dangerous. At
the same time, he did not rule out that if the government continues its
policy of consolidating the power of the majority, opposition forces
will bring thousands of people out into the streets for protests.

In his latest remarks, President Sargsyan described Tsarukyan the
politician as a “vice” for the country. The same day he signed a
decree releasing Tsarukyan from his membership in the National Security
Council. He also called for the commencement of a procedure to strip
the PAP leader of his parliamentary seat and made instructions to check
“unverified reports” about possible tax evasion and involvement in
cover-ups for crimes by Tsarukyan.

Many Armenian experts believe that it is former President Robert
Kocharyan who stands behind Tsarukyan and that Kocharyan intends
to return to active politics. However, Tsarukyan appeared to be
personally seeking the next presidency recently. Directly pointing
at his ignorance, Sargsyan said: “Can you imagine Gagik Tsarukyan
reading a speech at the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly,
which is followed by questions from deputies, including Azerbaijani
and Turkish ones? It is difficult and terrible to imagine that.”

As for Kocharyan, vice-chairman of the Republican Party and Minister
of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said after the RPA Council
meeting that Kocharyan, unlike Tsarukyan, is a political figure,
and in the RPA they have respect for the former president. At the
same time, he appeared to reaffirm the assumptions that the PAP had
been established to ensure the presence of the second president in
Armenia’s active politics.

The PAP, Kocharyan and others did not react to the development
immediately. It is clear that Sargsyan has decided that before
announcing the constitutional reform it is necessary to neutralize
the key critic of this reform. After such a step, either the PAP
will admit its defeat and will disappear from the political arena or
Kocharyan will have to personally join the fray.

Remarkably, Tsarukyan was in Moscow recently and is said to have met
with Kocharyan there. As most Armenian media suggest, the PAP leader
did not find support in Russia.

Raising the Stakes: Sargsyan ushers in new political conditions by
tackling former coalition partner

Embattled opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan called for a snap
presidential election as he responded to President Serzh Sargsyan’s
statements during a meeting of his Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP)
political council Friday afternoon.

“A situation that requires an outcome has been created since
yesterday. I am convinced that the only outcome is a total change of
power by means of an early presidential election,” Tsarukyan stressed
in his speech.

Addressing senior members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia
on Thursday evening President Sargsyan, in particular, ridiculed
Tsarukyan as an illiterate man, describing him as an “evil” for the
country and a “pseudo-political phenomenon”. He also announced the
start of the process of “crystallization” of the political arena.

In his speech today Tsarukyan refused to comment on what he described
as personal insults against his character made by Sargsyan. “I won’t
descend to such a low level,” he said

“As for the political farce, then the Armenian people considers the
fact that this government has existed till today to be the real farce.

This is our common shame and time has come to correct the mistakes,”
the PAP leader charged.

Tsarukyan also called for “nationwide mobilization” to get rid of the
“evil” Sargsyan government through all legal means, including nonstop
rallies and demonstrations.

Sarkissian : Declaration De Guerre A Tsarukian

SARKISSIAN : DECLARATION DE GUERRE A TSARUKIAN

POLITIQUE

salle a Paris.

independant…

Comment Forcer Les Alevis A Renoncer A Leur Foi Et Leur Culture

COMMENT FORCER LES ALEVIS A RENONCER A LEUR FOI ET LEUR CULTURE

Turquie

vie d’aujourd’hui, caduques.
