The Russian oppositionist Boris Nemtsov criticized some negative
developments following the cruel murder in Gyumri on his Facebook
wall.

“When the anti-Maidan movement of Kremlin declares Permyakov who
stands accused for murder of Armenian family in Gyumri as prisoner of
faith, what does it rely on? The love of the Armenian people or that
the Russians will be cursed even by the citizens of Armenia who were
friends so far?

It is like when the Kremlin provocateurs rely on the second. And the
Kremlin silently defends them.

Meanwhile, the agreement on jurisdiction and mutual legal assistance
relating to the Russian military base in Armenia signed in 1997 is
effective between Russia and Armenia.

Article 4 of the agreement states that Permyakov must be handed to the
Armenian justice, so the demonstrators are absolutely fair in their
claims that Russia follow its international obligations.

However, Permyakov is not handed, and he is even called a prisoner of faith…

And we are still wondering why everyone hates us,” Boris Nemtsov states.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
