HRAPARAK: GYUMRI RESIDENTS DISPLEASED WITH EX-MAYOR’S STATEMENT
‘Hraparak’ says that Gyumri ex-mayor Vardan Ghukasyan’s statement to
the effect that he is prepared to adopt the little child who survived
the attack on his family has caused discontent in the city. Some
residents of Gyumri believe that the mayor wants to raise a criminal –
everyone knows that the nephew Vahe Ghukasyan fostered by the mayor
was sentenced to 17 years in prison for murder. Others say that Vardan
Ghukasyan’s words should not be taken seriously because he likes to
profit by the occasion and his statement is just for show.
