In an interview with Tert.am, export in Turkic studies Ruben Melkonyan
spoke of Turkey’s expected policy next year and said that the greatest
threat he sees is huge financial, propaganda and human resources
Turkey has invested and will go on investing in preventing further
recognition of the Armenian Genocide, distorting the fact of the
Armenian Genocide at the international level.

“I think their steps must not be underestimated. They have invested
huge funds and propaganda resources, which could produce positive
results for Turkey and create new problems for us,” Mr Melkonyan said.

He does not think that President Recep Ergogan will come to Armenia on
April 24, 2015, because his political biography will not allow him to.

“However, I do not rule out some response in the context of Turkish
propaganda, with very little sincerity,” Mr Melkonyan said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
