PREMIER: EEU OPENS UP NEW PROSPECTS FOR ARMENIA’S AGRICULTURE

YEREVAN, October 20./ARKA/. The EEU membership will open up new
prospects for Armenia’s agriculture and processing, the country’s
premier Hovik Abrahamyan said at the annual agricultural forum on
Saturday.

Agriculture infrastructures need to be modernized quickly to ensure
compliance of Armenian products with the international standards,
Abrahamyan said.

The premier said the government will be consistent in its measures
aiming at agriculture development.

Today the aim is to ensure most favorable conditions in agriculture as
it has key importance for development in economy as a whole, he said.

“I hope we will manage to solve the existing problems by joint
efforts”, he said.

Armenia signed the Eurasian Economic Union treaty on October 10. The
EEU treaty will come in force on January 1, 2015. -0–
