Paruyr Hayrikyan goes on hunger strike

Leader of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan began a
hunger strike near the Armenian Presidential Palace on Sunday,
demanding that the President “transfer the power to the pro-European
forces.”

Hayrikyan told Panorama.am that he will hold a rally at Yerevan’s
Liberty Square on September 8, to be followed to a march towards the
Presidential Palace.

Hayrikyan noted that from September 7 “from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm every
day he will hold hunger strike in front of the Presidential Palace.”

The politician added that he will spend the remaining time “praying
for the President and political figures of Armenia.”
