Wage rise in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic easing social tension – prime minister
STEPANAKERT, July 23. /ARKA/. The rise of salaries in Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic on July 1 is easing social tension, Nagorno-Karabakh Prime
Minister Ara Harutyunyan said Tuesday at a news conference.
In his words, no significant price hikes are expected in the republic,
particularly in the food market.
“As for the calculation of coefficients of salaries of the public
sector’s employees, they are based on the agreement between Armenia
and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, according to which social and salary
policies must be similar in the two republics,” he said. “It means the
criteria chosen in Armenia have been introduced also in Nagorno
Karabakh.”
In July I, 2014, the minimum salary in Karabakh was raised from 45,000
drams to 50,000 drams. ($1 – 406.84). -0—
