Negative impact on relations with Ukraine if Armenia recognizes
Crimea’s independence

If Armenia recognizes Crimea as an independent republic, it will have
very negative consequences for the Ukrainian- Armenian relations,
Deputy Foreign Minister Danylo Lubkivskyy said at the briefing on
March 21, UNN reported.

“We have already sent an official note to Armenia to clarify its
official position on Crimea,” he added. “We expressed our concern at
the Armenian side’s statement on recognizing the independence of
Crimea. We appeal to Armenia officially for it not to recognize the
annexation of Crimea. We expect such an answer. If this is not so, it
will have a negative impact on the Ukrainian- Armenian relations.”

As for the journalists’ question about Ukraine’s plans of terminating
the diplomatic relations with Armenia, if it recognizes the annexation
of Crimea, he replied that a range of measures would be taken.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
