ARMENIA’S LEVON ARONIAN DEFEATS SERGEY KARYAKIN OF RUSSIA IN SEVENTH ROUND

YEREVAN, March 21. / ARKA /. Playing with black Armenian grandmaster
Levon Aronian defeated today Sergey Karyakin of Russia in the seventh
round of the candidates chess tournament in Russian Khanty-Mansiysk and
now he shares the first place with former world champion Viswanathan
Anand of India.

Dmitry Andreykin (Russia) defeated Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria),
Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) beat Shahriyra Mammadyarov (Azerbaijan)
and Viswanathan Anand (India) drew with Peter Svidler (Russia).

After the seventh round Aronian and Anand have 4.5 points each.

The winner of the candidates tournament that ends March 30, will play
against reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway. -0-
