Russia renewing staff of its military base in Armenia

29 November, Yerevan: The process of the renewal of the personnel of
the Russian military base in Armenia is currently under way. This
however will not affect the number of servicemen [deployed there], the
press service of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed
Forces has reported.

“Over 1,600 military servicemen have been sent to fulfil their duties
in the military units located in the [southern Russian] cities of
Volgograd and Budenovsk. Soldiers and sergeants trained at the
educational centres of the Southern and other military districts are
arriving to replace them. Over 20 flights from Moscow, Rostov-on-Don,
Mineralnyye Vody, Samara and Yekaterinburg have already been performed
to Yerevan and Gyumri, bringing over 2,000 new recruits to the
military base”, the press release said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
