Turkey will join the Customs Union when Russia joins NATO, Arghvan
Vardanyan, Secretary of ARFD Faction, said in a briefing in the
parliament, Friday, when commenting on Kazakh President Nursultan
Nazarbayev’s suggestion to admit Turkey to the Customs Union.
To recall, Nazarbayev made a relevant statement at the meeting of
the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk on 24 October. He said
that Turkish president personally applied to him with such request.
“I don’t think that we should believe in everything politicians say
even at such authoritative meetings at the highest level. Anyway, we
do not take that statement seriously, as it is impossible in practice
due to the current global geopolitical situation,” Vardanyan said.
