16:20 18.10.2013

In October-November 2013, sixteen small-scale documentary film
festivals with screenings followed by debates will take place in the
regions of the South Caucasus.

During the festivals, international as well Caucasian documentary
films will be screened. The films come from the archives of the One
World International Documentary Film Festival (Prague, Czech Republic)
and Golden Apricot International Film Festival (Yerevan, Armenia).

All films are dubbed in national languages, some have English
subtitles. The films cover the topics of human rights, conflict
transformation, migration etc. Each festival lasts up to four days
and each screening is followed by a moderated debate, in most cases
with special guests present.

In Armenia the festivals will take place in five marzes – Vayots Dzor
(October 20-23); Syunik (October 22-24); Shirak (November 8-10); Lori
(November 12-14); and Tavush (November 15-17).

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
