65-Year-Old Gyumri Resident Climbs Ararat Barefoot

65-YEAR-OLD GYUMRI RESIDENT CLIMBS ARARAT BAREFOOT

The 65-year-old citizen of Gyumri Gagik Muradyan and chief editor of
“Tourist Armenia” Yelena Shuvayeva-Petrosyan climbed Mount Ararat
accompanied by the members of Armenia’s federation of alpinism and
mountain tourism.

The citizen of Gyumri dedicated his expedition to the 25th anniversary
of the Spitak earthquake.Gagik climbed 4,100 meters barefoot, Yerkramas
newspaper reported.

He did not manage to climb the peak barefoot, as it is impossible to
climb the area covered by ice without special equipment. Therefore,
the man put on special shoes and climbed the peak.
