The governor of Ararat province Edik Barseghian is looking for a
“cultured”, smart, and intellectual man as a candidate for the mayor
of the city of Ararat, but the issue has not been discussed yet,
‘Zhamanak’ daily was informed by Ararat governor yesterday.
In his words, the issue of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) candidate
has not been decided yet. As is known, since the death of Abraham
Babayan, the former governor of Ararat province, the position of
Ararat city’s mayor has been vacant. A candidate for Ararat mayor
must have lived in Ararat for the past year. HHK will also elect
the territorial chairman as Abraham Babayan was the chairman of HHK
structure in Ararat and adjacent villages.
