Hraparak: Large cross on Armenian hilltop becomes problem for area
August 16, 2013
YEREVAN. – On Saturday,Armenia’s Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan
is preparing to place the 1713th cross on a hilltop cross-monument
nearby Aparan city, Hraparak daily reports.
`Even though it [i.e., the monument] symbolizes the age of the
adoption of Christianity in Armenia and it is assumed that it should
have brought the blessing of God upon Armenia and the prosecutor’s
native [city of] Aparan, it has caused the opposite effect.
`Passing through the iron crosses, which are welded to one another,
the wind causes a terrible noise, screech.
`[And] since the cross is on a hill and there is always wind there,
the ominous sounds spread over the large area.
`Consequently, no animal and birds are left in this territory since
the cross was placed,’ Hraparak writes.
